Eric Clapton was born and raised in Ripley, a sleepy village in mid-Surrey. Brought up by his grandmother Rose, who purchased his first guitar for him when he was 14, he grew up to become a legendary guitarist, and to be frequently referred to as EC, not least in this web site.
